The Giving Climate (givingclimate.com) is a fundraising intelligence product that provides economic analysis and forecasting for nonprofit development professionals. It is operated as an independent venture based in the United States.

You can view the overall climate score without providing any information. To unlock the full analysis, the tool asks for your first name, last name, email address, and organization. The email signup on our homepage asks for your email address. Providing this information is optional and is your choice.
We use this information to deliver the analysis you requested and to send product updates and communications you have signed up for. It is stored with our email provider, Mailchimp. We do not sell, rent, or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
The site uses Google Analytics, which collects anonymized usage data such as pages visited, approximate location, device type, and how you navigate the site. This helps us understand how the tool is used. It is not tied to your name or email address.
When you run an analysis, your selected inputs (giving level, sector vertical, and role) are sent to a third-party AI service to generate a narrative interpretation. This request does not include your name, email address, or any personally identifying information. It contains only the anonymous parameter selections you made.
The tool uses live economic data sourced from publicly available providers. No personal data is transmitted to or from those data sources.
The Giving Climate uses the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy governing their data practices.

Each service listed above has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data. The Giving Climate also uses Netlify Functions to relay live economic data from public providers (such as the Federal Reserve Economic Data service and a market data provider). No personal data is sent to those data sources.
The Giving Climate uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure how the site and tool are used. These cookies collect anonymized usage data and are not used for behavioral advertising. We do not set our own advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on. Blocking these cookies does not affect your ability to use the tool.
The Giving Climate is designed for working nonprofit professionals and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone at this time, no special handling is required. If this changes, appropriate protections will be implemented.
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have provided (your name, email address, and organization) at any time. You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message we send, or by contacting us directly. Requests to delete your information will be honored promptly.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We honor these rights regardless of your location. We do not sell your personal information.

This policy will be updated before any new category of data collection is introduced, not after. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If material changes are made at a time when we hold your contact information, you will be notified by email.
